Performs field and sustainment level maintenance and repairs on small arms and other infantry weapons and towed artillery.

The maintenance supervisor supervise and perform field and sustainment maintenance on tracked and wheeled vehicles, construction equipment; (which includes that used for earthmoving, grading and compaction; lifting and loading; quarrying and rock crushing; asphalt and concrete mixing and surfacing; water pumping; air compression and pneumatic tools; powered bridging and their associated trailers and material handling equipment (MHE)) special purpose equipment maintenance activities to include: Power Generation Equipment; Air Conditioning/Refrigeration Systems; and Quartermaster and Chemical Equipment; sustainment support maintenance on combat vehicle, infantry and artillery fire control systems and equipment, and related test equipment; field level maintenance and repairs on small arms and other infantry weapons and towed artillery; perform as support maintenance machine ship supervisor or metalworking supervisor; supervise recovery operations on track vehicles, wheel vehicles and related activities including electrical wiring harness system repair/maintenance; the senior maintenance supervisor supervises, plans, coordinates, and directs the field and sustainment maintenance of all wheeled, tracked, armament, power generation, and utility equipment; serving as principal maintenance or operations NCO in maintenance battalion or higher level organization; supervising personnel performing the duties of Armament/Fire Control Maintenance Supervisor (MOSC 91K4O); M1 Abrams Tank System Maintainer (MOSC 91A4O); Artillery Mechanic (MOSC 91P4O); Bradley Fighting Vehicle System Maintainer (MOSC 91M4O); Maintenance Supervisor (MOSC 91X4O.

The senior maintenance supervisor supervises, plans, coordinates, and directs the field and sustainment maintenance of all wheeled, tracked, armament, power generation, and utility equipment; serving as principal maintenance or operations NCO in maintenance battalion or higher level organization; supervising personnel performing the duties of Armament/Fire Control Maintenance Supervisor (MOSC 91K4O); M1 Abrams Tank System Maintainer (MOSC 91A4O); Artillery Mechanic (MOSC 91P4O); Bradley Fighting Vehicle System Maintainer (MOSC 91M4O); Maintenance Supervisor (MOSC 91X4O; provides advice and makes recommendations to the commander and staff on all matters pertaining to enlisted soldiers and their families; accompanies the commander on inspections, visits and ceremonies; assists in inspection of command activities, facilities and personnel as prescribed by the commander; ensures adherence to command policies; holds First Sergeants' or Sergeants' Major call to announce information and instruction; ensures that newly assigned enlisted personnel are instructed in military courtesy, customs of the service and command regulations or policies; responsible for monitoring training or conducts training of enlisted soldiers; assesses training at all levels and provides feedback to appropriate commanders and leaders; provides counsel and guidance to NCOs and other enlisted soldiers of the command; responsible for and provides guidance on Non-Commissioned Officer Education System (NCOES) and Non-Commissioned Officer Development Program (NCODP); inspects duties performed by subordinate NCOs; notes discrepancies and initiates appropriate corrective action; assists in reception of visitors to the command; serves as president or member of command promotion board or removal board for NCOs, as authorized by regulations; sits as chairperson or member of a command's Military Member of the Quarter/Year competition for enlisted soldiers or NCOs, as directed by local regulations; responsible for quality, control and training of noncommissioned officer evaluation reports (NCOER) while ensuring timely submissions; reviews evaluation reports to determine compliance with policies and procedures and recommends corrective actions on deficiencies to commanders, other leaders and rating officials; performs other duties prescribed by the commander; assists in the professional development of junior and company grade officer.

Perform field and sustainment level maintenance on small arms and other infantry weapons and towed artillery; perform duties in preceding skill level, supervises junior grade Soldiers and provides technical guidance to the Soldiers in the accomplishment of their duties; diagnoses and troubleshoots malfunctions of small arms and other infantry weapons and towed artillery; performs duties in preceding skill levels, performs small arms/artillery repairer duties and performs fire control repairer duties, supervises lower grade Soldiers and provides technical guidance to the Soldiers in the accomplishment of their duties; inspects and troubleshoots fire control system components, towed artillery fire control systems, self-propelled artillery fire control systems, tank fire control systems, small arms, other infantry weapons and towed artillery; classifies equipment for disposal IAW Army regulations.
