Performs technical inspection of nonintegrated radars including ground surveillance.

Must be able to perform duties of Radar Maintenance Supervisor-Inspector (26W40); supervises maintenance unit at battalion or higher level; serves as principal enlisted assistant to maintenance officer; organizes maintenance facilities of unit and sets up maintenance schedules; reviews, consolidates, and prepares technical reports pertaining to radar repair activities; determines adequacy and detects deviations and trends in equipment performance; recommends design changes to equipment and reports on efficiency of changes performed; recommends changes in work procedures and reports on unsatisfactory equipment and circuitry within nonintegrated radar systems; provides technical guidance to maintenance personnel performing complex repairs; interprets technical literature on operation and maintenance of general and special types nonintegrated radar and associated equipment; determines requirements and coordinates technical on-the-job training; provides advice and makes, recommendations to the commander aid staff on all matters pertain to enlisted personnel and their families; accompanies the commander on inspections and visits and at ceremonies; assists in inspection of command activities facilities aid personnel as prescribed by the commander; holds First Sergeants' or Sergeants' Major call to announce information and instructions; insures that newly assigned enlisted personnel are instructed in military courtesy, customs, of the service, and command regulations or policies; provides counsel and guidance to NCOs and other enlisted personnel of the command; inspects duties performed by subordinate NCOs; notes discrepancies and initiates appropriate corrective action; assists in reception of visitors to the command; sits as president or, member of command promotion board for NCOs, as authorized by regulations; performs other duties prescribed by, the commander.

Must be able to perform the duties of any radar repair MOS in CMF 26; inspects and checks maintenance performed by radar repair specialist for adequacy and suitability; inspects radar systems and components for wear, evidence of damage, and indications of breakdown; test operates and inspects repaired nonintegrated radar and equipment with measuring devices, special tools, and test equipment; observes performance in comparison with test standards; determines extent of replacement or repairs required; assists in diagnosis of complex malfunctions; insures that completed repairs comply with prescribed standards; recognizes electronic counter-measures and interference problems; assists in establishment of production and quality control procedures.
