Supervises, inspects and performs aviation unit (AVUM), intermediate and depot maintenance on aircraft pneudraulics systems.

prepares studies, evaluations, special reports, and records pertaining to aircraft maintenance, component repair, and related activities; plans aircraft maintenance areas, components repair shops, and facilities; applies production control, quality control and other maintenance management principles and procedures to aircraft maintenance and shop operations; supervises the verification and validation of technical manuals, training devices and contractor furnished training material pertaining to new aircraft and/or component fielding; supervises research and development projects in aviation and related areas; assists in the development of maintenance procedures for prototype aircraft and components; supervises the development and instruction of training programs; recommends and establishes plans, policies and procedures for aircraft maintenance operations; maintains supply economy and discipline; provides advice and makes recommendations to the commander and staff on all matters pertaining to enlisted soldiers and their families; accompanies the commander on inspections, visits and ceremonies; assists in inspection of command activities, facilities and personnel as prescribed by the commander; ensures adherence to command policies; holds First Sergeants' or Sergeants' Major call to announce information and instruction; ensures that newly assigned enlisted personnel are instructed in military courtesy, customs of the service and command regulations or policies; responsible for monitoring training or conducts training of enlisted soldiers; assesses training at all levels and provides feedback to appropriate commanders and leaders; provides counsel and guidance to NCOs and other enlisted soldiers of the command; responsible for and provides guidance on Non-Commissioned Officer Education System (NCOES) and Non-Commissioned Officer Development Program (NCODP); inspects duties performed by subordinate NCOs; notes discrepancies and initiates appropriate corrective action; assists in reception of visitors to the command; serves as president or member of command promotion board or removal board for NCOs, as authorized by regulations; sits as chairperson or member of a command's "Military Member of the Quarter/Year" competition for enlisted soldiers or NCOs, as directed by local regulations; responsible for quality, control and training of noncommissioned officer evaluation reports (NCOER) while ensuring timely submissions; reviews evaluation reports to determine compliance with policies and procedures and recommends corrective actions on deficiencies to commanders, other leaders and rating officials; performs other duties prescribed by the commander; assists in the professional development of junior and company grade officer.

The aircraft components repair supervisor supervises aviation unit (AVUM), intermediate (AVIM) and depot maintenance on aircraft components; the individual must be knowledgeable of the duties performed by personnel in MOS 68B, 68D, 68F, 68G, and 68H; other major duties for MOS 68K are: supervises aircraft component repair and technical inspection activities; determines man-hours, personnel, parts and facility requirements to repair aircraft components and associated equipment; plans aircraft maintenance areas, component repair shops, and facilities; instructs subordinates in aircraft component repair and technical inspection techniques and procedures according to directives, technical manuals, work standards, and operational policies; maintains supply economy and discipline; supervises the component repair technical training program; prepares evaluations, special reports and records pertaining to aircraft component repair and related activities; recommends and administers plans and policies; prepares studies, evaluations, special reports, and records pertaining to aircraft maintenance, component repair, and related activities; plans aircraft maintenance areas, components repair shops, and facilities; applies production control, quality control and other maintenance management principles and procedures to aircraft maintenance and shop operations; supervises the verification and validation of technical manuals, training devices and contractor furnished training material pertaining to new aircraft and/or component fielding; supervises research and development projects in aviation and related areas; assists in the development of maintenance procedures for prototype aircraft and components; supervises the development and instruction of training programs; recommends and establishes plans, policies and procedures for aircraft maintenance operations; maintains supply economy and discipline.

Removes, repairs, replaces, adjusts and tests pneudraulics systems, subsystems, assemblies, and components according to technical manuals, directives, and safety procedures; fabricates tubes and hoses; diagnoses and troubleshoots malfunctions to pneudraulics systems and subsystems or component; uses and performs operator maintenance on common and special tools; maintains and stores hydraulic fluids and other flammable materials; requisitions and maintains shop and bench stock for repair of aircraft pneudraulics systems; prepares forms and records related aircraft maintenance; performs duties described in paragraph (1) and provides technical guidance to subordinate personnel; supervises and provides technical guidance to subordinate personnel performing aircraft pneudraulics system maintenance; evaluates maintenance operations and facilities for compliance with directives, technical manuals, work standards, safety procedures and operational policies; performs maintenance trend analysis and applies production control, quality control and other maintenance management principles and procedures to aircraft pneudraulics system maintenance and shop operations; instructs personnel and conducts technical training in aircraft pneudraulics system maintenance, supply, and safety techniques; evaluates the technical training program; monitors requisition of parts, tools, and supplies.
