Supervises or performs technical inspections on rotor wing aircraft and life support equipment.

Must be able to perform duties of any MOS in CMF 67 at the grade E-6 level; serves as principal NCO of aircraft maintenance units; plans and lays out aircraft maintenance and components repair shops and facilities; advises in diagnosing complex malfunctions and determining maintenance required; coordinates work, assigns duties, and instructs subordinates in maintenance work techniques and procedures; insures that proper maintenance techniques have been employed by inspections; assists in preparation of plans, policies, and procedures for maintenance operations; supervises and participates in preparation of studies, evaluations, special reports, and records pertaining to aircraft maintenance and components repair operations, training, and related activities; supervises the preparation of work orders, requisitions, recurring reports, and correspondence; applies production and quality control principles and procedures; processes work orders and allocates maintenance responsibilities; recommends such actions as reassignment of duties and requirements for training to improve work performance; supervises aircraft maintenance detachment or comparable type unit; serves as First Sergeant of a company; interprets and supervises execution of company policy and SOP; assists in planning, coordinating, and supervising all activities that support the company mission; advises company commander on all matters concerning enlisted personnel, to include assignments, reassignments, transfers, promotions, granting of passes and leaves, punishments, welfare, privileges, and awards; directs and coordinates company administration; forms unit for drill, ceremonies, and other military formations; receives report of personnel present and absent, and reports number of unauthorized absences; holds NCO call to disseminate instructions and information to subordinate enlisted supervisors; coordinates operation of company food service and supply activities; assists company commander in accomplishing unit training; assists in inspection of organizational activities as prescribed by commander, observes discrepancies, and initiates appropriate corrective action; provides advice and makes, recommendations to the commander aid staff on all matters pertain to enlisted personnel and their families; accompanies the commander on inspections and visits and at ceremonies; assists in inspection of command activities facilities aid personnel as prescribed by the commander; holds First Sergeants' or Sergeants' Major call to announce information and instructions; insures that newly assigned enlisted personnel are instructed in military courtesy, customs, of the service, and command regulations or policies; provides counsel and guidance to NCOs and other enlisted personnel of the command; inspects duties performed by subordinate NCOs; notes discrepancies and initiates appropriate corrective action; assists in reception of visitors to the command; sits as president or, member of command promotion board for NCOs, as authorized by regulations; performs other duties prescribed by, the commander.

Must be able to perform the duties of any rotor-wing aircraft maintenance MOS at skill level 2; performs technical inspections on rotor wing aircraft and life support equipment to determine maintenance requirements and to insure that proper maintenance has been performed; checks aircraft records to determine adherence to prescribed maintenance standards; consults with flight crew on unusual operation of helicopter; conducts thorough inspection of helicopter using checklist and technical publications; performs operational checks and troubleshoots helicopter systems to detect and determine extent of present and incipient malfunctions; computes aircraft weight and balance; annotates records on maintenance required to be performed; advises helicopter equipment repairman on proper maintenance practices, procedures and techniques; resolves technical problems encountered in helicopter maintenance and interprets technical publications applicable to inspection, modification and maintenance of helicopters; evaluates operational readiness of helicopter and recommends corrective action; keeps maintenance technical library; implements quality control programs.
