Supervises or participates in detecting, locating, tracking, and analyzing on ground targets, rotary wing, and slow moving fixed wing aircraft.

The intelligence senior sergeant/chief intelligence sergeant serves as the principal enlisted assistant to commanders and heads of staff elements, and as staff NCO for major commands, in multi-echelon, joint and combined intelligence organizations; supervise intelligence surveillance, collection, analysis, processing, and distribution activities at all echelons; supervise activities pertaining to organization and training of tactical and technical operations; coordinate operating requirements of subordinate units with major supported units; reviews, evaluates, prepares and executes intelligence assets, deployment, employment, and redeployment plans and orders; supervise intelligence operations in Corps and echelon above corps (EAC) analysis and control elements (ACE); reviews intelligence doctrinal publications and prepares recommended changes; compares modification Tables of Organization and Equipment (MTOE) and Tables of Distribution and Allowances (TDA) authorization documents with Intelligence missions and functions and recommends revisions; provides advice and makes recommendations to the commander and staff on all matters pertaining to enlisted soldiers and their families; accompanies the commander on inspections, visits and ceremonies; assists in inspection of command activities, facilities and personnel as prescribed by the commander; ensures adherence to command policies; holds First Sergeants' or Sergeants' Major call to announce information and instruction; ensures that newly assigned enlisted personnel are instructed in military courtesy, customs of the service and command regulations or policies; responsible for monitoring training or conducts training of enlisted soldiers; assesses training at all levels and provides feedback to appropriate commanders and leaders; provides counsel and guidance to NCOs and other enlisted soldiers of the command; responsible for and provides guidance on Non-Commissioned Officer Education System (NCOES) and Non-Commissioned Officer Development Program (NCODP); inspects duties performed by subordinate NCOs; notes discrepancies and initiates appropriate corrective action; assists in reception of visitors to the command; serves as president or member of command promotion board or removal board for NCOs, as authorized by regulations; sits as chairperson or member of a command's "Military Member of the Quarter/Year" competition for enlisted soldiers or NCOs, as directed by local regulations; responsible for quality, control and training of noncommissioned officer evaluation reports (NCOER) while ensuring timely submissions; reviews evaluation reports to determine compliance with policies and procedures and recommends corrective actions on deficiencies to commanders, other leaders and rating officials; performs other duties prescribed by the commander; assists in the professional development of junior and company grade officer.

Perform duties as a platoon sergeant; performs duties shown in preceding skill levels and provides guidance to subordinate Soldiers; develops and implements platoon/section training programs; coordinate JSTARS flight operations and activities; incorporate mission requirements into overall collection plan; advise the G2/G3/FSO on CGS system capabilities and employment.

Deploys and re-deploys the CGS in a tactical environment; operate the computer network systems in the CGS; analyze Moving Target Indicators (MTI), Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR), infrared and visible imagery; correlates intelligence obtained from other sources; analyzes and correlates JSTARS near-real-time radar imagery data, SIGINT data and SIDS products received via the JTT; drafts and disseminates intelligence reports in support of the Battlefield Commanders requirements and cues or tips off other intelligence collectors or consumers; perform maintenance on the prime mover and the CGS mission equipment; perform duties as a team leader; performs duties shown in preceding skill level and provides guidance to subordinate Soldiers; supervise CGS shift operations; perform CGS site selection; participates in/conducts briefings; perform duties as a squad leader; provides guidance to subordinate Soldiers; supervise CGS operations and daily operational maintenance of related equipment; assist in the development of the collection plan; perform as liaison with outside agencies; manage CGS security requirements; instructs subordinates in proper procedures of imagery analysis techniques; perform duties as a platoon sergeant; perform duties shown in preceding skill levels and provides guidance to subordinate Soldiers; develops and implements platoon/section training programs; coordinate JSTARS flight operations and activities; incorporate mission requirements into overall collection plan; advise the G2/G3/FSO on CGS system capabilities and employment.
