Job Detail

Performs organizational, direct support and general support maintenance on fixed ciphony communications security equipment.

Supervises the performance of direct support, general support and depot level maintenance, calibration, and installation of communications-electronic equipment; determines requirements, assigns duties and coordinates the activities of subordinate personnel; advises maintenance officer or unit commander on maintenance activities; assists command and staff in continuous appraisal of communications-electronic equipment maintenance, calibration, and installation, operations, and training; provides guidance to subordinate personnel; applies policies and procedures for facility/unit/station management; supervises the duties performed by subordinate personnel engages in installation/maintenance; determines effectiveness of performance to meet workload demands; provides advice and makes, recommendations to the commander aid staff on all matters pertain to enlisted personnel and their families; accompanies the commander on inspections and visits and at ceremonies; assists in inspection of command activities facilities aid personnel as prescribed by the commander; holds First Sergeants' or Sergeants' Major call to announce information and instructions; insures that newly assigned enlisted personnel are instructed in military courtesy, customs, of the service, and command regulations or policies; provides counsel and guidance to NCOs and other enlisted personnel of the command; inspects duties performed by subordinate NCOs; notes discrepancies and initiates appropriate corrective action; assists in reception of visitors to the command; sits as president or, member of command promotion board for NCOs, as authorized by regulations; performs other duties prescribed by, the commander.

Supervises and instructs subordinate personnel in the installation, maintenance, repair, modification and inspection of COMSEC equipment; instructs subordinate personnel in application of maintenance procedures; makes continuous appraisal of maintenance operations and training situations; schedules subordinate personnel in consonance with workloads and best maintenance procedures; collects, prepares, and distributes material and data pertaining to operations and training; provides technical guidance to maintenance personnel performing complex repairs on fixed COMSEC equipment; coordinates and supervised maintenance, repair activities and personnel at all levels; diagnoses and evaluates malfunctions to determine extent of malfunction, length of time, tools and parts required to perform repair; supervises modification of equipment and provides on-the-job training in the maintenance of modified equipment when required; supervises the performance of direct support, general support and depot level maintenance, calibration, and installation of communications-electronic equipment; determines requirements, assigns duties and coordinates the activities of subordinate personnel; advises maintenance officer or unit commander on maintenance activities; assists command and staff in continuous appraisal of communications-electronic equipment maintenance, calibration, and installation, operations, and training; provides guidance to subordinate personnel; applies policies and procedures for facility/unit/station management; supervises the duties performed by subordinate personnel engages in installation/maintenance; determines effectiveness of performance to meet workload demands.

Performs organizational, direct support and general support maintenance on Fixed Ciphony COMSEC equipment, assemblies and accessory items; makes operating adjustments and emergency repairs; performs prescribed maintenance routines; checks to determine and establish the materiel readiness and serviceability of fixed ciphony COMSEC equipment; repairs equipment to the extent possible by appropriate directives and standards; conducts detailed tests to diagnose and isolate causes of malfunctioning or inoperative equipment; removes and examines components and parts; replaces faulty items; traces circuit continuity; determines whether equipment troubles are due to local fixed ciphony COMSEC equipment malfunctions or a result of other equipment through use of systems troubleshooting techniques; performs authorized equipment modifications in accordance with modification work orders; airlines, adjusts, and test-operates repaired and modified items to ensure proper functioning; keeps maintenance logs and records; prepares Equipment Improvement Recommendations in accordance with accepted Army maintenance practices; ensures authorized tools and test equipment are available, properly cared for and calibrated at all times; performs organizational, direct support and general support maintenance on fixed ciphony COMSEC equipment, assemblies and accessory items; adjusts and makes regular and emergency repairs to equipment maintained; performs appropriate maintenance routines on equipment; ascertains equipment readiness and serviceability; modifies equipment in accordance with authorized modification work orders; utilized an maintains authorized tools and test equipment; engages in accepted detailed testing procedures/techniques to diagnose and isolate source(s) of malfunction or non-function of equipment; disassembles or removes assemblies, components and parts and replaces faulty items; maintains maintenance records, logs and makes technical and administrative reports as required; repairs inoperative equipment; uses circuit continuity check procedures in troubleshooting malfunctioning or nonfunctioning equipment; performs accepted isolation procedure to pinpoint malfunctioning equipment within a system; adjusts, airlines and test-operates repaired equipment to ensure proper functioning within accepted standards; supervises and instructs subordinate personnel in installation, maintenance, repair, modification and inspection of COMSEC equipment; supervises subordinate personnel in required safeguarding of classified defense information and material; supervises subordinate personnel in required control and safeguarding of COMSEC materials which includes documents, devices, and equipment essential to communications security; inspects COMSE equipment repairs and modifications to assure proper maintenance techniques and procedures have been employed; supervises maintenance or clerical personnel; ensures that subordinate personnel maintain stocks of materials and replacement parts/components when authorized to ensure continuous COMSEC equipment maintenance capability; directs modifications to fixed voice COMSEC equipment.
