Performs maintenance on strategic microwave radio, troposcatter radio, multiplexing equipment.

Plans, supervises and directs installation, operation and management of area or strategic communications systems and networks in support of organizations at all levels; provides liaison between staff elements, operations and maintenance personnel; determines requirements, assigns duties and coordinates activities of subordinate operations and maintenance personnel concerning communications-electronics and related equipment facilities and physical plants; monitors and reports on communication system operation; anticipates and requests additional equipment and personnel to meet mission demands; ensures adequate training program is implemented; supervises and inspects subordinate enlisted personnel; interprets and advises subordinates in complex communications equipment, circuit or system situations; establishes system, station restoral/reroute plan in accordance with published guidance; resolves operating and maintenance problems within assigned responsibilities; performs all administration relative to personnel and communications-electronics operations; provides advice and makes, recommendations to the commander aid staff on all matters pertain to enlisted personnel and their families; accompanies the commander on inspections and visits and at ceremonies; assists in inspection of command activities facilities aid personnel as prescribed by the commander; holds First Sergeants' or Sergeants' Major call to announce information and instructions; insures that newly assigned enlisted personnel are instructed in military courtesy, customs, of the service, and command regulations or policies; provides counsel and guidance to NCOs and other enlisted personnel of the command; inspects duties performed by subordinate NCOs; notes discrepancies and initiates appropriate corrective action; assists in reception of visitors to the command; sits as president or, member of command promotion board for NCOs, as authorized by regulations; performs other duties prescribed by, the commander.

Installs, operates and performs organizational maintenance on strategic microwave radio, troposcatter radio, multiplexing equipment, power equipment and associated equipment; reads and interprets installation instruction, and military maps; position equipment and assemblies, erects and orients antennas; makes component and power unit interconnections; positions, prepares, starts and adjusts power units to assure prescribed power levels; utilizes proper safety precautions when working around high voltages and performs emergency actions in the event of injury; utilizes accepted operating procedures for strategic microwave, troposcatter radio and multiplexing equipment; adjusts equipment for operation on desired frequency and ensures that frequency is within specified tolerance; performs timing, adjustment and alignment of receiving and transmitting equipment for optimum performance; operates voice frequency and teletype order wires; operates patch panels, test facilities and interconnect facilities as required; recognizes and reports electronic countermeasures; applies electronic counter-countermeasures; performs organizational maintenance on strategic microwave, troposcatter radio, multiplexing equipment, power generation equipment and associated communications security devices; isolates and fault locates through use of operational and organizational maintenance publications on all equipment operated; utilizes hand tools and test equipment; interprets communications charts, traffic and straight line power diagrams; maintains station and equipment logs and records; installs, operates and performs organizational maintenance on strategic microwave radio, troposcatter radio, power equipment, multiplexing equipment and associated communications security equipment positions assembles, and installs equipment to include power units and antenna systems; performs preoperational checks on equipment; applies accepted communication standards, policies and reporting procedures in the operation of communications systems; establishes and maintain contact with distant stations via voice frequency or teletype order wire circuit; tunes, aligns and adjusts equipment of the communications system to ensure continuity and proper operations for optimum performance; utilizes and interprets communication documents in performing operational duties; performs organizational maintenance utilizing hand tools and test equipment on equipment operated in accordance with appropriate maintenance publications; provides assistance to lower grade personnel as required; monitors the operation of communications systems equipment; recognizes malfunctions and takes corrective action; maintains equipment/station logs and records; makes administrative and technical reports as required; supervises the installation, operation and performance of organizational maintenance on strategic microwave radio, troposcatter radio multiplexing equipment, power units and associated communications security equipment; prepares work assignments and schedules of subordinate personnel; provides technical assistance to subordinate personnel in unusual or complex communication operations problems; instructs and demonstrates the proper operational procedures and techniques; coordinates the necessary maintenance to support the communications system; applies accepted communications standards, policies procedures and techniques in the operation of the communication system; prepares technical and administrative reports; maintains applicable logs and records; prepares profiles as required; requisitions supplies; exercises precautions in handling of classified material.

Plans, supervises, coordinates and provides technical assistance in the installation, operation and management of area and static communications facilities, and major field or fixed plant communication systems or networks; prepares and interprets orders, line route maps, circuit, traffic and system diagrams, related technical reports and maintains communications situation maps and overlays; determines capabilities and limitations of assigned equipment using appropriate references; directs restoration of circuits using spare lines, equipment, alternate routing and published directives; briefs operations and maintenance personnel on the relationships and interface of all communications elements within his area of interest; assigns duties, coordinates activities of assigned personnel in employment of wire, radio relay, radio teletype writer, telephone, telecommunications center, facsimile and communications security activities to include resolution of communications operating problems; issues communications-electronics operating instructions and frequency information and when authorized plans frequency allocation and management; supervises the displacement of system equipment and switching centers; performs liaison between staff and operations and maintenance personnel; plans and conducts unit defense; supervises and instructs techniques of equipment utilization, electronic counter-measures, system application and employment of individual and organizational weapons in support of communications- electronics operations; plans, supervises and directs installation, operation and management of area or strategic communications systems and networks in support of organizations at all levels; provides liaison between staff elements, operations and maintenance personnel; determines requirements, assigns duties and coordinates activities of subordinate operations and maintenance personnel concerning communications-electronics and related equipment facilities and physical plants; monitors and reports on communication system operation; anticipates and requests additional equipment and personnel to meet mission demands; ensures adequate training program is implemented; supervises and inspects subordinate enlisted personnel; interprets and advises subordinates in complex communications equipment, circuit or system situations; establishes system, station restoral/reroute plan in accordance with published guidance; resolves operating and maintenance problems within assigned responsibilities; performs all administration relative to personnel and communications-electronics operations.
