Performs general heavy carpentry, structural steel, and masonry duties.

Supervise operator through intermediate levels of maintenance on diving life support equipment; performs as a qualified Master Diver for the control and support diving detachments and responsible for the command and control of assigned lightweight diving teams; ensures all diving operations are conducted safely; supervise deep sea diving missions and dives conducted deeper than 100 feet salt water; formulate demolition plan for operational and training missions; assist the commander in planning, scheduling and executing training and operational missions; provide expertise to staff planners and diving teams; writes and develops doctrinal, regulatory, training, and safety material related to the accomplishment of diving missions; provides advice and makes recommendations to the commander and staff on all matters pertaining to enlisted soldiers and their families; accompanies the commander on inspections, visits and ceremonies; assists in inspection of command activities, facilities and personnel as prescribed by the commander; ensures adherence to command policies; holds first sergeants' or sergeants' major call to announce information and instruction; ensures that newly assigned enlisted personnel are instructed in military courtesy, customs of the service and command regulations or policies; responsible for monitoring training or conducts training of enlisted soldiers. Assesses training at all levels and provides feedback to appropriate commanders and leaders; provides counsel and guidance to NCOs and other enlisted soldiers of the command; responsible for and provides guidance on Non-Commissioned Officer Education System (NCOES) and Non-Commissioned Officer Development Program (NCODP); inspects duties performed by subordinate NCOs; notes discrepancies and initiates appropriate corrective action; assists in reception of visitors to the command; serves as president or member of command promotion board or removal board for NCOs, as authorized by regulations; sits as chairperson or member of a command's "Military Member of the Quarter/Year" competition for enlisted soldiers or NCOs, as directed by local regulations; responsible for quality, control and training of noncommissioned officer evaluation reports (NCOER) while ensuring timely submissions; reviews evaluation reports to determine compliance with policies and procedures and recommends corrective actions on deficiencies to commanders, other leaders and rating officials; performs other duties prescribed by the commander; assists in the professional development of junior and company grade officer.

Employ basic carpentry and masonry skills; assists in building layout, framing, sheathing, fabrication and roofing structures; assist in erection of rough timber structures; reads and interprets drawings, plans and specifications; repairs and renovates all types of structures and erects prefabricated buildings; constructs concrete form work for slabs, walls, and columns; assists in performance of combat engineer missions, Reserve Components assists in sawmill set up and operation; interpret construction drawings and blueprints; prepares building layout; constructs wooden or concrete foundation and erects building framework; install flooring, walls, partitions, siding, roofing, doors, windows, stairs, and interior finishing; erect prefabricated and pre-engineered metal structures; applies proper concrete curing methods; directs operational maintenance on assigned equipment; reserve Components perform millwright, head saw operator, and edger functions during sawmill operations; reads and interprets construction drawings; estimates material, time, equipment, and labor requirements; supervises the construction and repair of wood frame, concrete, masonry or prefabricated structures; supervises the installation and repair of utility systems; inspects structures and facilities to ensure compliance with specifications; directs operator maintenance on assigned vehicles and equipment; directs combat engineering missions.
