Supervises or participates in operation of radio or television broadcast activities.

Prepares scripts for American Forces radio and television programs and participates as an announcer, master of ceremonies, and actor in broadcasts; writes scripts and new items; writes radio and television scripts on variety of nontechnical subjects for interviews, talks, and spot announcements; rewrites news items submitted for broadcasting; writes dialogue for sketches, plays, and similar types of presentations; writes radio and television spot announcements and produces radio spot announcements; employs fundamentals of public speaking; makes local spot announcements and acts out parts in broadcast; reads news releases; conducts interviews on various topics with a variety of interviewees; sets up microphones, operates audio console and auxiliary equipment (tape recorders and turn tables),TV film chain, and TV camera; maintains station records and/or film library, catalogues incoming resources, and packages and ships outgoing material; performs duties of and provides technical guidance to personnel in preceding level of skill; performs other duties as follows; announces radio musical programs and TV news and sportscast; operates TV video switcher and minicam unit; edits video tape and/or film for TV use; supervises operation of radio or television broadcast section, team, or detachment; produces TV spot announcements; selects, interprets, and revises scripts to be used in preparation of programs; directs TV programs; plans programming formats and schemes for delivering American Forces Radio Television Services; conducts analyses of audience surveys; supervises operation and control of broadcast section or detachment.

Supervises operation of American Forces Network affiliates or comparable broadcast activity; supervises personnel assigned to American Forces Network radio and television station; supervises and conducts an on-the-job training program for lower grade personnel; assists in direction and participates in broadcast operation at all levels; coordinates programs and broadcast activities of all units with the network; produces TV programing; coordinates network information with overall Army policies and plans; must be able to perform the duties of Broadcast Specialist (71R40); supervises operation of Armed Forces network affiliate or comparable broadcast activity; supervises personnel assigned to Armed Forces network radio and television station; assists in direction of Armed Forces network; supervises, and participates in broadcast operations at all levels; coordinates programs and broadcast activities of all units within the network; coordinates network information with overall Army policies and plans.

Must be able to perform the duties of Broadcast Specialist (71R40); supervises operation of Armed Forces network affiliate or comparable broadcast activity; supervises personnel assigned to Armed Forces network radio and television station; assists in direction of Armed Forces network; supervises, and participates in broadcast operations at all levels; coordinates programs and broadcast activities of all units within the network; coordinates network information with overall Army policies and plans.
