Job Detail

Performs maintenance on the improved tow vehicle, infantry fighting vehicle, cavalry fighting vehicle, fire support vehicle, multiple launch rocket system, and the family of light armored vehicles.

Maintains (inspects/troubleshoots/replaces/repairs/adjusts/ performs preventive maintenance checks and services (PMCS)) diesel power plants/packs/units, compression engines, wheel vehicle clutch assemblies, compression ignition engine fuel systems, compression ignition air induction systems, vehicle exhaust/liquid cooling systems, vehicle starting/charging systems, track vehicle hull electrical systems, standard/automatic transmission assemblies, cross drive transmission assemblies, auxiliary drive assemblies, propeller shaft assemblies, air/hydraulic brake system, mechanical brakes systems, track/wheel vehicle suspension systems, vehicle wheel/hub assemblies, mechanical/hydraulic steering systems, controlled differential steering systems, track vehicle hydraulic assemblies, auxiliary power units, wheel vehicle winch assemblies, fire extinguisher/suppression systems, and gas particulate filter systems; provides technical guidance to the soldiers in the accomplishment of their duties; supervise Bradley fighting vehicle system turret mechanic (MOS 45T) duties; inspects and troubleshoots: M113 series vehicle automotive systems vehicle automotive systems, Bradley fighting vehicle systems (M2/M3) series automotive/armament systems, recovery vehicle (M578) automotive systems, recovery vehicle (M88A1) automotive systems, and light-wheel vehicle automotive systems; performs battlefield damages assessment and repair (BDAR) of track/wheel vehicle armament/automotive systems.

Performs duties in preceding skill levels; supervises lower grade soldiers and provides technical guidance to the soldiers in the accomplishment of their duties; ;the mechanical maintenance supervisor supervises, plans, coordinates, and directs the unit, direct support and general support (DS/GS) maintenance of all mechanical equipment; serving as principal maintenance or operations NCO in maintenance battalion or higher level organization; supervising personnel performing the duties of Machinist (44E4O); Armament/fire control maintenance supervisor (45Z4O); Construction equipment repairer (62B4O); Track vehicle repairer (63H4O).

The mechanical maintenance supervisor supervises, plans, coordinates, and directs the unit, DS/GS maintenance of all mechanical equipment; serving as principal maintenance or operations NCO in maintenance battalion or higher level organization; supervising personnel performing the duties of Machinist (44E4O); Armament/fire control maintenance supervisor (45Z4O); Construction equipment repairer (62B4O);Track vehicle repairer (63H4O).
