Operates, maintains, and supervises maintenance on Automatic Test Equipment.

Provides principal noncommissioned officer direction to personnel performing maintenance of computerized systems and equipment; provides direct supervision to personnel performing duties of; IBM ADPS repair; MOS 39K; DAS3 computer system repair; MOS 39D; Tactical computer systems repair; MOS 39T; ATE operation and maintenance; MOS 39B; Field artillery TACFIRE direction repair; MOS 39Y; Field artillery digital systems repair. MOS 39L; performs principal noncommissioned officer duties associated with platoon sergeant; applies policies and procedures for facility/unit/station management; supervises the duties performed by subordinate personnel engaged in installation maintenance; determines-effectiveness of performance to meet workload demands; provides guidance to subordinate personnel; prepares and disseminates operating procedures and instruction; advises superiors on maintenance matters; assists commander/staff in continuous appraisal of electronic equipment maintenance, calibration, installation, operations, and training; conducts training in communications, operations, procedures, and maintenance practices; prepares technical and administrative reports; coordinates operating activities of subordinate communications elements in establishment of effective communications systems.

Supervises and inspects the duties performed by subordinate personnel; determines requirements, assigns duties, and coordinates activities of subordinate units; establishes policies and procedures for facilities/unit/station management; briefs commander and staff on maintenance posture of units organization; directs and monitors unit training; anticipates and requests additional equipment and personnel to meet mission demands; provides liaison between staff elements, operations, and maintenance personnel; provides advice and makes recommendations to the commander and staff on all matters pertaining to enlisted personnel and their families; accompanies the commander on inspections and visits and at ceremonies; assists in inspection of command activities facilities and personnel as prescribed by the commander; holds first sergeants' or sergeants' major call to announce information and instructions; insures that newly assigned enlisted personnel are instructed in military courtesy, customs of the service, and command regulations or policies; provides counsel and guidance to NCOs and other enlisted personnel of the command; inspects duties performed by subordinate NCOs; notes discrepancies and initiates appropriate corrective action; assists in reception of visitors to the command; sits as president or member of command promotion board for NCOs, as authorized by regulations; performs other duties prescribed by the commander.

Operates and performs unit level maintenance on ATE and repairs electronic equipment, printed circuit boards, and modules; prepares appropriate maintenance forms and records; troubleshoots automatic test equipment to determined cause of malfunction at unit level maintenance; repairs ATE and subassemblies by adjusting, aligning, repairing and/or replacing defective components at unit level maintenance; tests repaired ATE system to ensure compliance with technical specifications; performs maintenance on electronic test facility; troubleshoots ATE at DS/GS maintenance level and repairs ATE at DS maintenance level; provides technical and procedural assistance to less experienced personnel; requests and maintains authorized bench stock of repair parts, supplies and technical publications; supervises operation and maintenance on the electronic test and repair facility; prepares, reviews, and consolidates technical and administrative reports and requests to include maintaining files and records; prepares or updates Standing Operating Procedures, site defense, and evacuation plans; assigns specific duties to subordinate personnel and establishes workload, work schedule and repair priorities; performs and supervises quality control inspections, establishes and monitors on the job training programs; provides technical information and instructions to subordinates and supported units; advises supervisors on operational and maintenance matters.
